Lorenzo Whiting Blood diary

Abstract The volume is a 131-page manuscript diary kept by Blood from May 17, 1835 to July 28, 1844. All entries are shorter than a full page, apart from a few exceptions. The diary begins with Blood describing his abusive childhood, and he then introduces himself as a freshman at Wesleyan University. Willbur Fisk papers

Abstract

The Willbur Fisk papers consist of two large series, Correspondence and Papers. The Papers feature items related to Wesleyan University, including his acquisition of scientific equipment. They also contain Fisk's own writings and sermons, on topics ranging from abolitionism to Methodist issues. A subset of the Papers are items written by or belonging to Ruth Peck Fisk, the wife of Willbur Fisk.

Cyrus David Foss papers

Abstract

Cyrus David Foss (1834-1910), Wesleyan University class of 1854, was the sixth president of Wesleyan, (1875-1880), and a bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church, (1880-1904). This collection contains correspondence, many sermons, some materials from his time at Wesleyan, information about his position as bishop, and his travels. It also contains materials from other members of his family.

Methodist Church letters

Abstract

A collection of Methodist letters from the library of Albert Sanford Hunt (1827-1898) of Rhinebeck, New York. The letters were originally bound in two volumes, one labeled "Methodist Autographs, English", and one "Methodist Autographs, American". Many of the letters are addressed to Freeborn Garrettson (1752-1827), an important figure in the establishment of Methodism in North America.
